Dixie's 11!

On Tuesday (Jan. 12th) we celebrated Dixie's 11th birthday at my parent's house. We had dinner and of course birthday cupcakes. It is hard to believe that it has been 11 years - she is just as sweet at the day I brought her home and sometimes just as crazy :).

Some pics of her big day:

Here's hoping for many more special birthday celebrations! We love you Bubby Roo!!!

Sweet Boy!

Mason is 3.5 months and is such a sweetie! He has discovered his hands and loves to look at them and stick them in his mouth. He has had a cold for pretty much the last two months, so he sleeps in his swing for naps and at night for a little incline. We also have the humidifier running to try and help him out. We have moved his swing into his room though, so hopefully we'll get him into the crib soon. He does pretty well at night, just usually gets up once sometime between the 3 am and 5 am hour - depending on when he went to bed. He is a good eater! We have given him the bottle a few times, to make sure that he wouldn't refuse it when I go back to work. No problems there :). Just like Savannah, they don't care where the food is coming from - "JUST GIVE IT TO ME!" Savannah continues to be a great big sister, always wanting to help and take care of Mason. She just loves him to death and is pretty good about being gentle with him and watching out for him when she is moving around. Her new favorite thing to do is to hold him in the bathtub. If I try and help I always get the same reply - "I can do it myself."

I have really enjoyed my time off with my family and feel so very blessed to have such wonderful children,a loving husband, and lovable doggies.

Here are some recent pics of Mason:

Resolution?

Happy 2010! As we look forward to a year of wonderful times, we find ourselves getting into the routine of the annual setting of resolutions. In doing this, George asked Savannah if she had any resolutions for the New Year. She quickly replied "Yes, I do." She then proceeded to leave the living room - she returned with this...

"Here's your rest lotion Dad."

This is truly what we all need. May your year be filled with many blessings and lots of "rest lotion." :)

Christmas 2009

What a wonderful time we had! We spent Christmas morning at our house for the very first time this year. Ever since George and I started dating, we have always been at other family members' homes for Christmas morning. It was nice to wake up in our home with all of our wonderful Christmas decorations and our HUGE Christmas tree.

Per Savannah, Santa was not allowed to come into the house - but it was okay for Dad to meet Santa outside and get the gifts. Thanks to Dad helping Sanat out, we woke up to a couch full of Santa gifts and full stockings. Now one would think at the age of 3 the present opening would be like a tornado going through the living room. Not in this house - Savannah would tear off one piece, usually little, at a time and place it on the floor in a pile, then onto the next piece. Needless to say, we spent a LOT of time opening gifts. :) Mason had some help opening his gifts and seemed to be somewhat intrigued with each of them. He managed to stay awake for most of the Christmas happenings. As always Jake and Dixie took part in the present opening - they especially enjoy the boxes of cookies that they receive.

We spent Christmas day afternoon with George's family at his parent's house where we proceeded to slowly open more gifts - well at least Savannah opened things slowly. George and I have present opening down to a few seconds flat. We finished our evening with a wonderful dinner and yummy desserts.

On Saturday, we spent the day with my family at my parent's house. Once again with the present opening. Savannah had to move a little faster this time to try and keep up with Lynlea and Chloe. :) What a little peer pressure will do. After the presents were opened, we had another fabulous dinner and more delicous desserts. I don't think we will need to eat for the next few weeks.

We received so many wonderful, thoughtful gifts. I guess we can say that our children, and we, are well loved.

Here are some pictures of our two day Christmas celebration:

Hoping you all had a wonderful celebration and enjoyed family time as much as we did!
